Try outs begin Monday August 16 and end on Friday August 27. Times are from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. each day and attendance is mandatory in order to make the team. Please make sure your clearance packet is turned in to the finance office before tryouts. Bring racquet, water, and wear sports attire and white soled tennis shoes. See you out there!
Try Outs Update
We're in to our second week of tryouts now, everything is going great. . . although it could be cooler! Reminder tryouts are closed as of Wednesday August 25.
Upcoming Events
Parent Meeting - is scheduled for Tuesday August 31 at 5:30 courtside. This meeting will last about 1 hour and one parent of each player is encouraged to attend.
Fund Raisers - A big part of keeping our program going and parent voluntary contributions low comes from two early season fund raisers. On Friday Sept. 17, we need five parents to help in the snack bar at 4:00 p.m. for the J.V. Football game and we need six parents at 6:30 p.m. for the Varsity game. Please contact Patty ASAP to help.
Car Wash - Our biggest and most important fund raiser of the year. . . the annual car wash at the El Cajon Elks Lodge on Washington is on Saturday September 25. Girls need to sign up for a shift either from 8:30 - 12:30 or from 12:30 to 5:00. Every girl should consider their participation as being a part of the team and parent volunteers are welcome. Yes it's a lot of work but it also can be a lot of fun. See Patty to sign up.

Congrats to those players who have made the Varsity and Junior Varsity Team! Just a reminder that practice this coming week is on Monday and Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed by the parent meeting Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Our first match is against Monte Vista, at Monte Vista Wednesday September 1 at 4:00 p.m. Be at the courts at Granite Hills at 3:00 p.m. to warm up. Our next match is on Thursday September 2 at 9:00 a.m. against El Capitan at Granite Hills. Be at the courts at 8:30.

Initiation Party!
Our initiation party will be held at Brooke Gandy's house at 1611 Rancho Judith in Alpine from 3 - 6 p.m. on Friday September 3. Swimming is available so bring a bathing suit if you'd like. See you there!
Season Starts Off...
We are now under way and what an awesome first week that our Varsity and Junior Varsity teams had! Both teams dominated in non-league play defeating Monte Vista 16-2 (Varsity) and 18-0 (Junior Varsity). Against El Capitan the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams won 17-1. With three matches against the opposing Valley league, we will continue to prepare for our league matches which will begin on Thursday September 16th. We'd love to see lots of supporters out at our matches!
Granite Pounds Mount Miguel In To a Mole Hill
Our conference tournament against Mount Miguel on Saturday was another great win for our girls. Emily Keach gave up just one point in her first set, and we gave up just four games in the match. Thanks to the Father/Daughter teams who entered in the fundraiser tournament. It was a long, hot afternoon with Granite Hills teams as either finalists or winners in each division. In the Beginner Division Emma and Ed Burke won. In the Intermediate Division, Melissa and Fernando Mendez were 2nd Place. And in the Advanced Division Chandler and Tim Glaze were also 2nd Place! A great afternoon with Granite Hills winners all the way around!

JV Girls: We have added three matches to our schedule, please review the schedule page and mark these dates down. ALL JV players should plan on playing. Please note that on the Wednesday October 13 match against Valhalla that we need parent drivers. Contact Alanna if you can help.
